As part of the ongoing development of our Carsharing activity, Free2move is looking for a Legal Counsel - Business Law & Data Privacy to join our Legal Team.

Reporting directly to the General Counsel & DPO in Paris, you will act as the primary legal point of contact for the Carsharing business, covering both business/commercial law and data protection & IT law.

This role combines day-to-day contract work—such as B2C & B2B agreements and technology contracts—with the responsibility of overseeing the Carsharing data privacy compliance programme (GDPR and global privacy regulations).

You will provide clear, pragmatic, and business-oriented advice, work autonomously across Business, Marketing, IT, and Procurement teams, and help continuously improve Free2move's legal practices, templates, and compliance.

What You Will Do:

Business & Commercial Law:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of B2C and B2B agreements, including car-sharing terms & conditions, terms of use, payment solutions, SaaS, and business introducer agreements.

• Mitigate legal and financial contractual risks, ensuring fair, favourable, and consistent terms across all agreements.

• Advise business teams on laws and regulations applicable to mobility and car-sharing, and support the development and improvement of contracting processes.

• Support the General Counsel on corporate matters as needed, such as due diligence, TSA, and post-merger integration.

Data Protection & IT Law:

• Act as the key legal advisor on EU (GDPR) and global data protection regulations.

• Oversee and implement the Carsharing data privacy compliance programme, including international transfer mechanisms (SCCs), DPIAs, records of processing activities, data retention, and breach procedures.

• Advise on and oversee the lawful execution of Data Subject Rights requests, and lead investigations and response efforts for data breaches.

• Draft, review, and negotiate IT and technology contracts, such as SaaS, IT outsourcing, and software licensing.

• Support Procurement and IT in negotiations, ensuring compliance of digital projects (e-Privacy, DSA, DMA, AI).

• Provide legal expertise on technology-related matters, including data, cybersecurity, and digital platforms.

Internal Legal Practices:

• Update and implement legal templates and internal legal practices aligned with company strategy and compliance requirements.

• Deliver legal training and guidance to business and technical teams.

• Manage relationships with external law firms.

What We Are Looking For:

Education & Experience:

• Master of Laws (LL.M or equivalent postgraduate degree) in Business Law, Digital Law, or Data Protection Law. A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) certification is a plus.

• 4+ years of post-qualification experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department, with international exposure handling both commercial/contract law and data privacy/IT law matters.

• Proven experience negotiating IT and B2B/B2C contracts. Experience in the automotive, mobility, and/or digital sector is a strong advantage.

• Deep knowledge of contract law (B2C/B2B), data protection law (GDPR), and IT/digital law. Knowledge of EU consumer law is appreciated.

• Fluency in written and spoken English and French is required; German is a big plus.

• Excellent computer proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite. Experience with legal-tech/contract-management tools and privacy compliance software is appreciated.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

• Autonomous and self-starting mindset with high personal accountability and a focus on results.

• Team-oriented with a positive attitude, dynamism, and adaptability in a constantly changing environment.

• High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure.

• Hands-on approach with the ability to understand field problems and propose process improvements.

• Ability to translate complex legal issues into straightforward, pragmatic, and user-friendly advice or documents while considering financial implications, risks, and business impacts.

• Occasional travel between Free2move sites may be required.
