Free2Move (F2M) is looking for Car Porters (contract position) to support the Car Sharing Operations in Portland, Oregon. Free2move offers customers travel solutions for short, medium or long term vehicle rentals. Customers can locate and book a car directly through the Free2move app, to get where they want to go!

The Car Porter position helps to ensure the cleanliness, appearance, and useability of the vehicles in the Free2move car sharing fleet. Making sure vehicles are always prepared for the next customer and the next trip. The Car Porter duties include keeping track of vehicles, driving vehicles to new locations within the city, cleaning vehicles, fueling vehicles, and other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Driver or Car Porter, exhibit safe driving skills, be able to take direction, and can be entrusted with valuable property.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Supports City Fleet Supervisor in managing the carsharing fleet within the city
• Driving and handling all vehicles responsibly to ensure damage prevention, and protecting Free2move property at all times
• Driving vehicles within city limits (homezone), to new locations in homezone as directed
• Uses company provided tablet to access Free2move App to locate vehicles in homezone, and address customer tickets
• Ensures vehicles have adequate fuel levels, filling fuel tank using gas can or at gas station as needed
• Maintain vehicle appearance, internal and external. Car washes as needed, removing garbage and debris within vehicle, vacuuming and wiping down vehicle interior
• Drive vehicles to central fleet management location for minor repairs i.e. Tire changes or Battery Changes
• Drive vehicles to repair / body shop or mechanic, as needed or required for more complex repairs
• Provide assistance to Technicians, Team Leader, and City Fleet Manager as needed
• May be asked to fill other fluids as needed i.e Washer Fluid

Experience & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid Driver’s License and Good Driving Record
• Demonstrated experience as a car porter for an automotive dealership, or similar work
• Ability to drive vehicles on busy streets in varying levels of traffic
• Ability to park vehicles on busy streets, including parallel parking when required
• Working knowledge of basic car maintenance would be preferred
• Ability to assume responsibility for the valuable property of customers and Free2move
• Willingness to learn and to perform a wide range of allocated tasks
• Ability to use discretion related to vehicle needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work regular schedule and overtime as needed
